Therefore, it goes without saying that people should strive for success day in and day out as they show everyone what they are made of and prove their worth to their bosses and higherups so that they can bring home the bacon and earn a lot of money while they still have the opportunity to do so.

Basic Information and Treatment of New Foot Injuries

As if climate change and disaster-risk are not alarming enough, there seem to be a new kind of threat being discovered on a daily basis. Whether illnesses, disabilities, vaccines or chemical threats, science discover new human vulnerabilities on a regular basis. Take for instance the growing number of known physical injuries to muscle and joints that have been discovered in just the last five years. One such injury is the carpal tunnel syndrome, a hand-related strain-stress injury, is a relatively new phenomenon which develops from the use of a computer mouse.

New Foot Injuries

Aside from the carpal tunnel syndrome, there are also new injuries on the foot. The plantar fasciitis, a common and kind of recurring strain injury among people who uses their feet and legs heavily, is a recent discovery. In fact, a lot of what we know so far about the injury remains inconclusive and provisional as science is just beginning to understand the problem.

What we do know so far is that the injury is caused by chronic irritation of the arch of the foot due to excessive strain and various other causes including bone spurs, flat feet, pronation and tight calves. As a form of foot injury, it is common among runners, hikers and even cashiers who stand for considerable amount of time. The injury is a repeating combination of foot, arch and heel pain. Recently, there have been more severe cases that were documented to have resulted to permanent disability.

Misleading Information and Safe Treatments

From there, there remains a lot to be known about the injury. As it is, there are a lot of misleading information about it remains floating around the internet and public media like claims that plantar fasciitis and tendonitis are the same. This has already been completely disproved by medical researches and many Singapore podiatrists in fact explain that tendonitis involve the inflammation of the tendons while plantar fasciitis does not involved such inflammation. Also tendonitis is triggered by collagen degeneration while plantar fasciitis is not.

Despite faulty information, there are today already a number of safe medications and therapies that have been proven viable in treating plantar fasciitis. Most of these treatments are meant to relieve pain in the heel improve strength and flexibility in the short run and more continuous therapy for a sustained period is expected to heal fascia ligaments and even correct foot problems such as flat footedness.

In terms of medication, simple pain relievers like Ibuprofen like Advil and Motrin IB as well as Naproxen Sodium such as Aleve are safe options in order to alleviate pain. These medications are over-the counter drugs that may be bought even without the prescription of a podiatrist. But since they are pain relievers they are common household pain relievers, they do not treat cause of the problem nor correct any resulting disability.

More corrective and healing treatments like flat feet treatment include a provides more extensive solutions and even more extensive set of physical therapies like stretching, using special devices can provide symptom relief and strengthen plantar fascia, Achilles tendon, leg muscles that assist ankles and knees. Arch support braces can also serve the same purpose by providing support for the stretching of the feet and distribute weight more evenly. Venues, treatment therapists, equipment are available in a growing number of podiatry clinics in Singapore.

First Aid Kit Contents and Containers

Even the home is not as safe as it used to be. There are today growing concerns on disaster risks that has presented new threats of storms and rains. And then there are newer forms of viral infections from wanton use of pesticides and chemicals in food production, animal and crop growing. Finally, there are the chemical hazards that science now suggests to be present in the everyday utilities even in hygienic products like soap and detergents.

Resilient Architectures

Understandable, families are on the path to building resilient and healthy homes and spending considerably to achieve such. First, people have been on the look-out for modern architectural designs that are stylish and cheap but at the same time has strong foundations and ergonomics to help against strong winds during typhoons and storms.

Part of this new architecture is good ventilation and airflow and therefore help minimize risks of bacteria concentration. However, setting up a ‘anti-infectious’ architectural design can be costly. This usually entails installing additional safety equipment such as air-vents or air ducts and other filter systems including automated sophisticated ventilation designs and layout are obviously more extensive solutions but these are all the more expensive.

Basic Safety Kits

But aside from architecture and engineering, the more fundamental concern for many homes to day is the availability of first aid boxes or kits that typically contains vital emergency items. The basic first aid kit content include the following items: sterilized gauge or bandages, scissors or tweezers, safety pins, eye patches, surgical gloves, anti-septic wipes, alcohol, antibiotics and wound and skin cleansers. In addition to these standard contents, many first aid kits also contain standard medicines such as pain relievers, anaesthesia and antibiotics which are important during any emergency situation.

Expanded First Aid Kits

More recently, first aid kit contents have also expanded to include utility items such as a blanket. Especially for homes in colder regions, a thermal blanket can come in handy especially in cases when finding rescue or medical help may take a while.

For families living in isolated areas, emergency cell phones, directories and even extra cash is slowly becoming a mainstay of home first aid kits. For families with infants or small children, there are first aid kit which include the standard contents plus to special items like disposable resuscitation pack, special items for babies, elderly or disabled household members, cold compress packs, ointments, and disposable CPR shields.

Lastly, aside from contents, newer first aid kits are also being designed and built to be disaster-resilient themselves. New first aid sets are now enclosed in more durable containers. Some first aid kit boxes are lightweight, waterproof and shock-proof materials or in abrasive-resistant pouches. A lot of these kits are tested using military grade standards for water-proofing and impact resilience. They are also often sealed air-tight which allows protects contents from natural moisture and therefore allow them to last longer than most traditional first-aid boxes. Many first aid kit suppliers can even custom design the size, compartments and functionality of your case or box depending on your unique needs or special circumstance.

Invasive and Non-Surgical Eye Bag Removal Methods

There is always a price to pay. This applies even, if not more so, to human’s pursuit of beauty. Understandably the rich and elite few who could afford exorbitant costs of vanity products and procedures were the very limited market for these items and treatments. Due however to scientific breakthroughs that have made technology affordable and readily accessible, the costs of these items and services has significantly dropped within reach of even the average consumer. Sophisticated state of the art technologies have likewise reduced of not completely eliminated the risks of cosmetic surgeries. Either these or there is simply a growing number of average consumers more bent on spending for to achieve their notion of beauty.

Whether as a testament of cheaper technologies or indication of increasing sense of social insecurity, various cosmetic procedures have increased worldwide and seem to suggest that they are becoming more and more common fixture of modern commerce. Today cosmetic surgeries and special beauty treatments have become commonplace services availed by a mass market across different demographics in growing number of salons and beauty centers.

The Most Common Cosmetic Surgery

Worldwide, eye bag removal is one of the most common cosmetic surgery around and one of the most in-demand procedures particularly in Asian countries like Korea and Singapore. Eye bags, or lumps under eyes, are mild swelling or puffiness that happens or develops naturally with age. As people grows old, tissues around the eyes, including some of the muscles supporting the eyelids, weaken and the fat that helps support the eyes move into the lower eyelids which causes the lids to appear swollen or puffy. It also appears dark and therefore generally undesirable.

Eye bag removal is an invasive eye lid surgery procedure, technically referred to as blepharoplasty surgery that removes these fats and reduce bagginess of the lower eyelids. In the most common procedure of eye bag removal, excess skin and fatty tissues are removed from under the eye to improve appearance and take away signs of ageing. The procedure is generally effective since such eye bag surgery also smoothens crow’s feet, those wrinkles around the eyes and therefore makes patients look younger.

The Most Common Methods

In Singapore, the most common procedure of eye bag removal is an surgical evasive procedure involves making incisions just beneath the eyelashes, removal of about 2 millimetres of the skin, and exaction of fats from the lower lid so that the area do not look too sunken. The canthopexy on the other hand, is a much simpler method that involves tightening the lower lid and elevating its position by ‘stitching’ the muscles on the lower lid to a higher position on a bony area to prevent it from sagging. Although there are also surgical procedures stitching, these incisions are superficial and therefore considered none invasive or non-surgical.

Other non surgical eye bag removal methods in Singapore include pinch eye lid surgery that simply involves extracting fat through the inside of the eyelid and then removing a ‘pinch’ of skin from the area without cutting deeper into tissues or extracting muscles as with traditional surgical methods.

And then too there is the laser blepharoplasty, which as its name implies uses laser technology to remove eye bags and is growing in popularity, Aside from being safe, the methods is considered by many as more effective than other methods since it is also a scar-less method. As a minor trade off though, laser blepharoplasty usually require considerably longer operation and healing time.

Don’t be shy – join in!

Anyone can take up belly dancing, regardless of their gender or body build. You don’t have to be a woman or have an athletic body to take up the dance form. Worried about committing mistakes? Don’t be. Keep in mind that, since you’re enrolled in belly dance lessons for beginners, all your classmates are novices as well. Relax, join in, and have some fun.

Concentrate and feel the moment
Breathe through each movement. Pay attention to how you flex your pelvis and move your belly. Focus also on your feet, how they ground you and affect your movements. Don’t feel self-conscious if you find yourself staring too intently at your body and movements. Everyone else is in the same boat.

Relax your mouth
Notice how professional belly dancers tend to part their lips sensually while dancing? There’s actually a practical explanation behind that movement. Keeping your lips loose and slightly open lets you take deeper inhales and release bigger exhales, which will put more power into your movements. So, don’t clench your jaw while dancing. Relax your jaw and let your lips part.

Be patient with yourself
You’re learning to move your body in a way that you’ve likely never tried before – by isolating and contracting various muscle groups. So, cut yourself some slack. Don’t feel bad if you can’t execute a move properly after a couple of tries. Permit yourself to commit mistakes. Ask your instructor for pointers and practice at home.

Don’t compare yourself to your classmates
Everyone has a different level of control over their body. Some may master certain movements faster compared to others. Don’t let this bother you. Focus on your own progress. Pay attention to your body. If something hurts or feels off, let your teacher know.

Stick to comfortable clothes
Come up with an outfit that’ll allow your instructor observe your hips and midriff. A comfy top–one that leaves your midriff bare–and some yoga pants are ideal. Wrap a scarf around your hips to accentuate your movements.

Keep learning outside the studio
Expand your belly-dancing knowledge outside of your classes. Read books, practice with instructional videos, and immerse yourself in its rich music genres. Familiarize yourself with its various rhythms. Watch how professional belly dancers move their body.

Practice whenever and wherever possible
Take every opportunity to polish your skills. Stuck in a desk job? Maximize your short breaks. Practice abdominal flutters, rolls, tummy pop, and other stationery manoeuvres that only require the contraction of your muscles. Do head slides, circles, and shoulder rolls. You can also do this when you’re stuck behind the wheel during traffic.

Make your belly dancing classes a memorable, enjoyable, and successful experience with these helpful tips!
